We all have this moment in life that we can just sit and laugh about. Mine was two years ago when I visited my Granny and Pop with my dad in Oklahoma. My dad fell into the lake and this moment I caught on camera. When I think of this morning it makes me laugh. What makes you happy, what moments can you think back at? The moments in life that can bring a laugh and a smile really make the day brighter. God Bless.

“Wow where are you from,” asks the clerk behind the counter. My mother replies, “Here, I’m from Arizona.

One year ago my mother was terribly sick, and was in the hospital for almost two months. During this time she received several dozen breathing treatments. She was seen by a speech therapist, a throat specialist, and doctor after doctor; who in the end could only fix her bronchitis, not what remained from her illness. She had no voice, only a whisper, and a shaky whisper at that. My mother was devastated. She prayed and prayed and didn’t know what to do or think of what happened to her.

After months of suffering and trying to speak again her voice came back but only a little bit. She has been asked if she is a victim of stroke, is she Swedish, English, where is she from, and snickers behind her back. Do people understand that if they don’t have something nice to say to not say anything at all? What if you were in her shoes, what if you were struggling to be heard? So many people will never know what it is like to be my mother, I have no idea what it is like to be my mother either, but I watch I hear, and I defend all the time. My mother is not a joke; she is trying to just live her life, without the ridicule, and without the hatred. One day she was almost attacked by a homeless man because she wouldn’t respond to him regarding his financial situation. She tried to speak however on some occasions she cannot get the words out of her mouth. This situation was one of those days.

Just remember that if you hear someone who sounds like they may be sick; think before you tell them how awful they sound; you may just stick your foot in your mouth. Mom you are my hero, you have always been my hero and I am proud of you for going out there into the world and LIVING LIFE.. I love you. I always will.

This picture is from my parents Anniversary in January. We had a blast.

This is it, my last semester of school. I am so sorry I have not blogged in awhile but I have not been able to utilize my computer with the girls and their busy schedules, and now my internship.

I have had so much fun with my first 30 hours at Roadrunner LD School. This school is for learning disabled students, and they are incredible. The teachers and the staff here at Roadrunner are truly gifted. I am attending their upcoming talent show this week I'm so excited and it's truly been fun.

I hope to graduate at the end of July when my semester is over. Wish me luck keep me in your thoughts and prayers, thank you so much for all your comments and your understanding that school is truly a job :0)

Whose ready for a fuderwacking birthday party?

Part of Destiny's birthday was to have her hair dyed blue, lol yes it's really blue. But shes a great kid, so I didn't see the harm in it.

Destiny wanted a Cheshire cat hat, and mad hatter hat for her birthday, here are the girls modeling the hats.

My daughter Destiny turned 13 last week, and I have been so busy with so many different summer things going on I didn't have time to post her birthday pictures. Here we are having an Alice Birthday party.

We had a special Johnny Depp, mad-hatter birthday cake made for her, and yes it's totally edible.

Mom's Home!!

Thank you to everyone who sent prayers out to my mom who was in the hospital for the past week; laboring to breathe with severe bronchitis and asthma related problems. I took the lab-top to the hospital to read the comments that were left to her on my blog as well as Marydon's blog @ http://blushingrosetoo.blogspot.com/ They really lifted her spirits as this was an extremely long journey for her.

My mom is Sherry @ http://countrywingsinphoenix.blogspot.com/

She went into the hospital last Monday, and was released this afternoon. She is back home resting now. She wanted me to thank each and everyone of you for all your wonderful kind words, and support during this time. The hospital stay was extremely rough, as everyone knows when you go to the hospital its hard to recover or even get rest when someone is coming into the room every hour to check on you, and then when you need them to come in and you push the button it takes about two hours for them to respond to the problem lol, yup hospitals are so much fun.

My mom will probably be out of work for the next few weeks recovering, the doctors recommended she stay out of the air outside for a while, until her lungs recover. My mom has never touched a cigarette a day in her life, and never gave it a second thought. This is all related to the pollens in the air, her allergies, and her asthma. She came down with pneumonia a couple of weeks ago and it hit her hard.

I continue to ask for your prayers in her quick healing so that she can get back to work, and to enjoying the outdoors of summer. I thank God every day for my mom, and I thank God for your wonderfully kind and thoughtful words of encouragement at this time. I will try to respond to all of you, it's been a hectic week, I have been running back and fourth to the hospital twice a day to help bring meals to my dad who was staying there with her during this time, as the hospital food was so expensive. Then catching up on my finals, the kids are still in school for another week, and it's taken a toll on me as well. I apologize for not responding to you my friends, know that we read all the comments this week, and they touched my heart. God bless you all.

Prayer request for my mom!

Hello my friends, as you may know my mom @ Country Wings in Phoenix, has been extremely sick lately. Yesterday evening she was admitted to the Hospital. She is having an extremely hard time breathing. The doctors have said it is her asthma. I ask that you keep her in your prayers today, and pray for a speedy recovery. She will be offline for a little bit, they say it could be a couple of days before she is released. I will keep you posted if there is any change. God bless you all, and thank you.

Hello everyone thank you so much for all your kind and wonderful comments, they really do help. I am sorry if I wasn't able to get back with some of you, the criminals are still at it. They took out another 350.00$ from the bank account calling in pretending to be my husband since they have his social they were able to get his account info from the bank itself. The bank is not refunding us the money for the first incident because since his social was his pin he technically had it wrote down and they said they cannot refund us the money. They are saying they will work with us for the rest of the money that was just taken out yesterday. What a CROCK!! It's not like I am rich, so this is a lot of money for me and my husband to loose. Pray for us and our situation. Have a great weekend.

Cruel and unusual World we live in.

Yesterday started off without any issues, until this a:m, my husband received a call from the bank.

Last night he felt hungry after work, he decided to stop by and purchase a Subway sandwich; seems harmless right? Well being tired from a 10 hour shift at work he mistakenly left his wallet at the restaurant. Did a good citizen find it? LOL NOPE they did not. Someone who was evil and heartless found it. They took over $360.00 out of our bank account. My husband left his social security card in his wallet, and guess what that is what he chose for his pin; I know I know please no lectures; we know, A HUGE MISTAKE. We called the bank and they are going to refund us some of the money they took, the other money they took was the cash.

Ya know times are hard, this isn't right for someone to just take something, the decent thing to do would've been to turn it in. I don't know what happened to Christian people, where are they?

Completely hurt, and lost I will turn my thoughts and prayers to the Lord for answers. God bless you all.

I have been so busy lately with so many doctors appointments, and trying to work my 5 classes this semester into my life.

The journey of life is a funny and crazy thing. Your life takes so many turns, you never know where you will wind up, or what might happen.

I don't share my personal life with too many people. I would like to share with everyone the miracles that God has bestowed in my life.

My husband is the one miracle I am referring too. We met in 2003, he was on leave from Iraq for two weeks. We only knew each other for 1 of those weeks. We fell for each other. We were lucky to have met, and even luckier that he was in communications for the Army. We were allowed to speak almost every day. He was one of the first troops sent into War. It was a scary time, where they spoke of Iraq and the troops daily. Now we only hear bits and pieces about whats going on STILL over there.

A month ago, the doctors said there was a high possibility that my husband had Prostate cancer. I have just recently lost a family member to cancer, and I could not fathom the idea of loosing my husband too.

I asked for prayers for health, and all of you prayed, and visited me, and I thank you so much for that. I wanted you too know that GOD does listen, he answered. I wanted you to know what you had been praying for. I didn't want to say the words, until I knew for sure. The words hurt, and have invaded so many lives in the world.

Ryan's test went off without a hitch this morning. And with wonderful news to share with everyone, He is negative, NO CANCER! I am excited and happy that we will continue on our life journey together.

I love you Ryan. You are my heart. My heart does not beat without you near. I am lost without you. I want a long happy life together. I want our home. I want forever, just like we said the day we said, "I do". I want forever with you. Our lives will go on now, we won't forget the miracles from our Lord, we will embrace this moment, we will embrace this miracle, and we will never forget. I have never taken life for granted. You are such a wonderful man, and I thank God every day for you in my life. You are my light, you are my strength, you understand when no one else does, and care for me like no other has. I Love you for that.

I am sorry that I don't have much time to blog with 5 classes this semester, I am just slammed with homework. Please know I read all your messages, I listen, I am thankful, and I miss you all. I will be blogging again in May when classes are over, and try every now and then to blog. I will pray for all my friends. God Bless and have a great weekend. The end of another Year HOLD ON!

We have come to an end of another year. Many have lost loved one's this year, and I will pray for you and your families for the up-coming year to bring much love and many blessings.

Many off us lost jobs, many of us lost friends, we loose so much every year, and all we can do is hold on and pray that the next year will get better, the next year will be our year.

Many of us have shed pounds, shed tears, shed so much in our lives, remember the pain, remember the love, remember the memories, this is all we have in our lives to learn and gain from this experience, and carry over our hearts and souls in our new lives with the Lord.

I would like to share some of my memories of this year.

Yeah this semester is over, and the grades are in. I got straight A's this semester, and brought my GPA up to a 3.714 I am so excited. This has truly been a long journey that I have been on. I still have about one year left until I get my degree, I am so excited that it is getting closer.

I will not be hosting Disney Sunday this week, I apologize about this but there are to many things going on right now. Holiday Treats

Well I decided to give it a go and make my own chocolate covered pretzels.

These are all the goodies I started with.

Here is the finished product. I stuck them inside a little porcelain ginger bread house.

Lets take a closer look at those treats shall we?

I will surely post the grades when they come in next week. I will give you a hint, I know I have 2 A's we will see what the others scores are like very soon.

I have found some great ways to share holiday decorating for under $5.00. If you have a budget this is for you.

Jingle Bell Wreath
You'll need about 100 mini jingle bells to make this wreath.
Cut the hook off of a wire clothes hanger and use pliers to shape
remaining wire into a circular base for the wreath. Tape ends together
with duct tape. Wind one end of a 6-foot-long piece of craft wire around
the base a few times to secure it. Thread a bell onto the wire, and wind wire
around base once to secure bell. Repeat until base is covered in bells.
Wind the excess length of wire around base to conceal it.
Add embellishments such as evergreen and ornaments, and a piece of ribbon for hanging.

Christmas Gift Tags
Photocopy family photos or wrapping paper.
Cut the photocopy into the shape you want for the tag.
Cut two pieces of laminate paper and press the tag between them; trim excess
laminate from edges. Punch a hole in the tag, and thread baker's string through the hole.

Easy Ornament
You can make dozens of these snowflakes to give as ornaments or to attach to gifts.
Keep one for yourself, and let it "snow" on top of your own family’s tree.

How to Make the Beaded Snowflake
1. Starting from the center of a wire snowflake form
(available at craft stores and sites such as fusionbeads.com), slip a long,
short, and long bead onto each leg.
2. Next, twist a piece of craft wire around each leg, at the top of the long bead.
Thread either end of the wire with a long and a short bead. With a glue gun, affix with a dab of hot glue.
3. Thread another short bead and long bead on each leg; repeat step 2.
4. Finish each leg with a long bead topped with a short one. Affix ends with hot glue.
5. To make a hanging ornament, twist a small loop on one of the points with
craft wire and thread loop with a ribbon.
6. Then hand-stitch or use a glue gun to attach the snowflake to a basic craft store stocking.

Chocolate-Covered Pretzels
Melt white and dark chocolate chips separately in a double boiler or microwave.
Dip top third of pretzel sticks in chocolate and lay them on waxed paper.
Roll them in sprinkles or coconut. Or, pour some of the contrasting chocolate
into a sandwich bag and pierce a hole in it. Squeeze the bag to create ribbons
or polka dots on the chocolate. Let the chocolate set before placing pretzels in a glass dish.

Beverly's Pink Saturday request for today is:Saturday, December 5 - Tell us a childhood memory about a special holiday.

I found these photos of my precious daughters for the holiday memory post today.
Isabel's birthday is December 21st. Every Christmas holiday is a birthday and celebration of our Lord, and sweets Isabel's birth. Most of the girls lives, I was their daddy, and their mommy, and being a single mom surely wasn't easy. So this song is for my girls, I am their mommy, and their daddy, and I think of that every time I hear it.

These photos were taken in 2002 on her birthday.

Isabel turned 3 in 2002.

Here she is full of excitement as she opened up her Barbie doll present.

When she opened this gift, she loved it right away. I am a big time cleaner, and vacuum daily, sometimes twice, where I find the time who knows lol, but Isabel was excited that she was able to vacuum along side of me now with her new little vacuum.

Isabel and her sister Destiny loved playing in Isabel's new fort, Bob the builder. They loved Bob the Builder, but remember this is over 7 years ago, they don't now lol, and they wanted me to make sure I said, they do not watch it now lol; kids.

Here was sweet Destiny all dressed up for the party. She loved Boo from Monster's Inc. She carried her doll every where, until Lilo and Stitch came out a few months after this photo, then she carried Lilo every where.

Cloche Party

Marty- A stroll thru Life

This first cloche I made, is from my daughter Isabel's boot. She loved these cowgirl boots when she was little. She loved the movie Toy Story 2 and always wanted to be Jessie. My mom bought these boots in Oklahoma one year on a trip home, and when Isabel saw them she never took them off, until her foot would no longer fit.

This next cloche I made has an ornament that was given to my mom when I was born for my first Christmas. It's a little red mouse. My granny gave it to my mom and wrote a scripture on the bottom of the mouse it reads: "Heidi Smith's first Christmas 1978".

I hope everyone enjoyed looking at something that was a treasure to me. I decided that since we were having a cloche party I would show them off.

Holiday Decorating Frosty Style

While browsing the Internet, I found great ways to decorate with snowmen for the holidays. I would like to share these with you guys. My mom has been decorating with snowmen forever, it is her favorite and she tends to leave them up all year round. Be sure to stop over and see her snow men on her blog

Our first snowman creation is snow man treats.

Fill a large cake plate with white-frosted cupcakes and then fill in details of a snowman face with more orange and black frosting.
Sprinkle the cupcakes with white cake sparkles for a snow-crystal finish.

Next is frosty eggnog
Creamy eggnog- the adult or child-friendly version-takes center
stage in this Frosty vessel made from a large rose bowl. For a temporary
design, paint the inside of the glass with melted orange and black chocolate
coating. Or, to use the bowl and glasses, next year, use glass paint from the
crafts store to add the faces to the outside of the glass.

Frosty snow heads
A glass of milk takes on new deliciousness with doughnut-hole snowmen heads.
Outfit powdered doughnut holes with eyes and a nose made of edible food clay.
Pierce a hole through the center of the doughnut using a skewer and fit in a straw. Make a miniature scarf for the glass from orange yarn and trim it with scrapbook brads in the shape of snowflakes.

Snowmen in a cup
What better than the iconic Hostess Sno Ball to form a roly-poly Frosty?
Place the sweet treat on a skinny eggcup or cordial glass for comic proportions.
Make the snowman head by using a toothpick to attach a frosted
and decorated marshmallow or doughnut hole.
Black gel is perfect for eyes and buttons.

Speaking of creations, the girls wanted me to make each of them a domino necklace for their teachers for the Christmas holiday, Isabel picked out a little mouse, and red with black trim, with a D initial for Mrs. Dow. Destiny picked out a snowman with black trim, and an L initial for her teacher Miss. Turp, who will be getting married next week, and it will be Mrs. Lock, we wanted her to have her upcoming newlywed initial on the domino.

I would like to dedicate this post to my mother, she has just had one of those days. I want you to know mom, you are my best friend, you have always been there for me, and I will always be there for you no matter what. I love you with all my heart. I will be your shoulder to cry on; always. When you need a hug, my arms will always be open, you are the other piece of my heart, we swapped remember?

Holiday Ideas for Decorating

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I thought I would share some more decorating ideas for the holidays. It is easy, fun and in-expensive.

Dress up an old piano with stockings, small village homes, and garland.

Dress up an old empty frame, with a wreath made out of pine cones, spray paint the pine cones any color to go along with your decor.

Dress up an old bowl with ornaments, and a strand of garland mini beads.

Dress up your doorway with Christmas ribbons, and tack on your Christmas cards, saves space, and looks great.

Holiday Wreath Making

Today I would like to share way's to create simple, and money saving way's to make a wreath for the holidays.

Cork wreath
Add pop to a dining room with wine corks wired to tiny red jingle bells. Take about 22 corks of the same size and 22 small (3/8 of an inch) red bells bought from a crafts store. Drill a small hole (just big enough to fit your wire through) 1/4 of an inch from the top of each cork and another 1/4 of an inch from the bottom. It is very important to make sure all the drilled holes at the top line up with the holes at the bottom. Using long, green floral wire, push the wire though all the bottom holes of the corks. Leave enough wire at both ends when finished for tying closed later. Cut another long piece of floral wire to string the tops of the corks together, alternating with the bells. Tie ends of wire at the top and bottom, twisting to close and make a wreath shape. Hang with length of ribbon.

Dad's old ties
Turn Dad's old ties into door decor. You'll need a 14-inch wire wreath form from a crafts shop and 19 ties. Cut all ties but one into 15-inch lengths. Position the narrow end of first cut tie, front side up, on a section of the wreath. Wrap tie around form until pointed end is positioned as shown, hiding the rolled tie; secure with pins. Repeat, overlapping ties slightly. Flip wreath over; sew rolled-up ties to the backs of points. Pin on the uncut, bowed tie.

Star Cookie Cutters
Assembled in minutes out of common home supplies — star cookie cutters, silver paper clips, and red twist ties — this charming creation is a cinch to craft. On a flat surface, arrange cutters into a circular shape as shown; clip together where stars touch. Carefully flip wreath over and secure the same spots with additional paper clips. Tightly twist ties around these sections as shown. Evergreen sprig optional.

Recycled cards

Recycle holiday greeting cards into holly leaves for this one-of-a-kind decoration. Using a holly leaf stencil, trace onto old cards and cut out holly shapes. With a glue gun, glue a toothpick onto the backside of each of the leaves to form a 1-inch pick at the "bottom" of each leaf. Take a 10-inch Styrofoam wreath and insert these leaf picks around the shape until it is completely covered, fanning and overlapping them as shown. Cut out more holly leaves as needed to cover the wreath with regifted greetings.

Ornament balls
A shimmery stunner takes Christmas ornaments off the tree and onto the wall. Buy a straw wreath about 22 inches in diameter from the crafts store. Using 1/2 yard of white felt cut into 3-inch-wide strips, wrap each piece around the wreath, pinning to secure and overlapping the edges. Take assorted Christmas balls and attach to the felt with a low-temperature glue gun, using the smallest balls to fill in holes and gaps. This is also a great way to use older ornaments that may not look good from all angles. You can also add small stars, snowflakes, or other ornaments to give your wreath a unique look. Hang with wire, wrapped securely around "top" of wreath. (Note: You'll need to add the wire before you cover the wreath completely with ornaments.)

A wonderful hand painted sign, for Thanksgiving. Be ye Thankful, I truly am thankful I found you Lynn. I am thankful for my family and the time we get to spend together this year around the table with these wonderful creations nearby.

Another wonderful hand painted sign was inside this magical box, Gobble till you wobble, this is truly what happens on Thanksgiving, we eat until we wobble ourselves away from the table.

Magical Disney Sunday

The lovely Tinkerbell, she's my favorite, though she is not flying in the skies she is down on the float waving hello as she passes by.

Feeling a little blue around the holiday's? Let's try Christmas decorating in blue.

Blue Candles with blue Christmas balls for color.

Blue stockings around the fireplace, with some blue throw pillows; for that extra splash of color.

A mini white tree with blue ornaments. For blue accent's put mini presents on a cake plate.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week, I am off to Isabel's cross country meet, this is the last one until the finals in December.

Speaking of finals, I have finals over the next two weeks, and will have to be studying so that I can keep the grades up. I don't speak to much about school because this is my little place away from school, but I am in my second year now, and maintain a 3.6 GPA. I am trying to keep the GPA up and even get it higher this semester, which will allow me more scholarship money. Going back to school is truly not an easy task at hand, however the rewards in the end will be wonderful.

I thought since I had been out of school so long, and then returning to school later in life, I would set out to graduate with honors to show everyone who said it wasn't possible, that not only is it possible, but I did it with honors. Hopefully this time next year I will be graduating with honors; and then moving on to receive a Bachelor's in Family Life Studies; oh no I won't stop until I receive my Masters ;0)

Holiday Decorating

Dress up the end table with a beautiful artificial floral arrangement for the holiday's.

Put some greenery on your stair's. Take a can of red spray paint and paint one of the trees in red, I think it adds such a festive look.

Dress up your kitchen table with red's for the season, you can find some fabric and make your own quilted place mats.

Throw some red potpourri into an old Christmas box, and dress up the table with some ornaments.

Happy Veteran's Day to my wonderful Husband. He served 2 tours in Iraq. It was a difficult time for him, he is home, he is safe, and I thank the Lord every day for uniting us again. I am so happy that we have each other to hold tightly every night.

Isabel's Cross Country meet

Last Thursday was Isabel's cross country meet. She did a wonderful job flying around the school grounds like a cheetah.
They had to run a mile. Her little legs go pretty fast, for being so little. Today's meet was held at Sahauro Elementary.

Here is Isabel stretching before the run, shes in the yellow shirt, and red shorts, the smallest one in between the other girls right in the back :0)

Here she is at the starting line, right before the race. I am amazed at how well she paces herself for only being 9.

There she is flying by I caught her in the air, literaly flying, she loved this picture.

Here she is coming in to the finish line still not shedding one sweat bead. GO ISABEL GO! YOU CAN DO IT!

And there she is at the finish line. WOOHOO... We are proud honey, and sissy was on the side lines cheering you on too, it was a little hard to hear with all the parents screaming.

Welcome to Magical Disney Sunday.

Once upon a time in a far away land a young prince lived in a shining castle, although he had everything his heart’s desire the prince was spoiled, selfish and unkind, but then one winters night an old beggar women came to the castle, and offered him a single rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold.

Repulsed by her haggard appearance the prince sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away, she warned him not to be deceived by appearances for beauty is found within, and when he dismissed her again the old woman’s ugliness melted away to reveal an a beautiful enchantress.

The prince tried to apologize, but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love within his heart and his punishment she transformed him into a hideous beast, and placed a powerful spell upon the castle and all who lived there.

Ashamed of his monstrous form the beast concealed himself inside his castle with a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world. The rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose, which would bloom until his 21st year; if he could learn to love another and earn their love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken, if not he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time.

As the years past he fell into despair and lost all hope; for who could ever learn to love a beast.

Nothing says Christmas like a Santa wreath trimmed in Pink

Add some flare with homemade pink stockings for the entry way of your home.

We can't forget to decorate our mantle with our little villages, and pink trims..

And add some pink color to your pine cones this year, and throw in a bowl of pink ornaments to blend the colors together.

If you want a pink tree for Christmas, go with white instead, and add the pink flare, so that you do not over due it on the pink colors, you can bring the color out instead. Don't forget the angel throw pillows.

A Injury and Cross Country Meet

Well as you all know, I have been dieting for the last 10 months, yesterday I walked my mile as usual and man did I injure my leg lol I can hardly walk today.

Well I am off this afternoon for little Isabel's cross country meet, I will try to take better pictures this time, however mom's camera's battery keeps dying so you know how that goes. I hope there aren't stairs at this school I don't know if I will be able to climb them lol.

Amy has made it possible for me to find all you wonderful friends, thank you Amy.

Family is all a person has in life, to be there for the good times, the bad times, and to love you when you are sick, and just need a hand to hold. Halloween night had it's twists, and we had a sick one at home, but the love of the family held strong through the night. Thank you so much Lord for sending me such a loving and supportive family. My family has been there for me through so many rough times, bad times, poor times lol I am still there; but family is always there. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And thank you to all my friends out there that have been supportive of me through-out this hard time; it means the world.

I have decided to share with everyone a poem I have written for my sweet sister/cousin Amy Dawn Ragan's funeral. Her funeral is being held this Tuesday.

A butterfly’s journey into life.

Amy loved butterflies. She was fascinated with their wings, and much like butterflies Amy has received her wings in life, and went to be with our savior. The butterfly starts off in life as an egg, much like Amy inside her mother. When Amy arrived into the world she grew, just like a caterpillar grows from the egg. While Amy grew in our earthly world, Amy touched so many people’s heart, she touched their soul. Amy had a laugh that could light up a room. Amy was incredibly strong, just as a caterpillar must be throughout its short existence, they must mature and venture through life. Amy was touched by God, she was a wonderful Christian woman, and she had so many wonderful friends she met along the way. Amy had so much family to love her, and she gave so much love in return. We are all gifted to have been a part of Amy’s life. Amy showed us what it meant to have faith, and what it meant to be a child of God. Amy’s existence here with us may have been short, but it was not for nothing.

A caterpillar turns a web and makes a cocoon to prepare for its journey into the world a new creature of God. Amy has emerged from her cocoon and flew away. We must rejoice for Amy’s life. Amy's life is starting over as a beautiful butterfly, her life as a child of God has just begun. There are many who need her now, even though we feel as if we need her more, God has a plan, and his plan was to make Amy into the butterfly she always knew she was. Rejoice for Amy is in no more pain, Amy is in the place that will one day be all of our destinations. Life is short, Amy’s life was short for us, but her journey with God will never end. She is flying high in the heavens now, with her beautiful wings, her love shines down on us today, and for always. We love you Amy Dawn Ragan. Amy's middle name Dawn refers to day break, and Amy’s favorite flower was a Daisy, and the definition of a daisy is “the day’s eye”. How wonderful Amy knew all of this, as her parents did when they named her, it was her destiny to be a butterfly. The dawn breaks, the daisy’s eye awakes, and the butterfly rests upon its petals. Rest now Amy for you have pain no more. Rest on the petal of the Lord. Every day break, every daisy, every butterfly, we will forever see your spirit; and your spirit will remain in our hearts forever.

Tonight's post will be my last for just a little while. I am not able to blog at this time. I am sorry for not being able to return a response post to all those wonderful people who have said a prayer for our family.

My mom, my girls, the family, and myself have taken the news extremely hard, and I just need to be with them for a little while. I thank you all again for your prayers. I will host Disney Sunday soon. Again please forgive me.

AMY'S FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS....

Amy's Journey

The journey of life, where does it begin? For some it begins when they take their first breathe, when they see their first face. Life begins at different times for all of us, my cousins journey began at such a young age, when she was diagnosed with cancer at only 10 years old. She fought, she cried, she lived. Her mother my Aunt was told by so many doctors that Amy would not live out the month. My Aunt and Uncle prepared, I remember when I visited Amy and stayed the week with her while she was battling cancer. My Aunt and Uncle let Amy drive when she was only 13, yes as a child I thought man I wish I could do that, it wasn't until later in life that I realized they were trying to show her a life she may never know, a life they wanted her to experience; just as many people get to experience; just growing up. The doctors where wrong with Amy though, she fought, she battled it, and she won. She was truly the most amazing woman I have ever known. She fought to live, when so many others choose to give up and lay down. SHE FOUGHT.

Two years ago at the age of 31 Amy was diagnosed with cancer for a second time in her life. Amy has battled this cancer for two years, fighting, starving, no voice, and the cancer took her away from us all tonight, I HATE CANCER, I TRULY HATE IT, but Amy has taught us that this was not the fault of our Lord but the fault of CANCER. I hate it, i hate it.... I will miss her, our girls will miss her, I MISS HER NOW. We will love her, and her memory and her heart will live inside all of us FOREVER.

Amy's favorite saying was nite nite, and every night she would text me this, so today I will say to you my sweet Amy...

Cross Country Afternoon

Happy Friday everyone. Yesterday was my youngest daughters Cross Country meet. She placed 4th out of 7 schools. They had to run 1 mile. Seems like a lot for such little legs. I have taken a couple of pictures to share, but its hard to see with all the activities.

Her school is in all bright yellow.

There is little Isabel zooming by in her bright yellow t-shirt and red running shorts.

And there she is at the finish line, hard to see with everyone.

A moms work is never done. I AM LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT!

God Is Great

Well I have been dieting now for 9 months. I have lost 110 pounds. I have almost completed this long journey of the weight loss. I still have more to loose, however the journey to keep it off, will be just as hard. Trying to find time to work out in my day to day schedule has not been easy, but just saying I don't have time to do it would be an excuse. My mother is a diabetic, my grandmother was, my Pop is, my Aunt is, most of the family is, and this is what started my pursuit to loose weight. I did not want to become a diabetic also. I have trained my mind to think in this way, " I will not LIVE TO EAT, I WILL EAT TO LIVE". This is a hard thought to process, but I tell myself this every day. Eating is not my favorite time of the day, but it is something I must do to feed my body and to survive. Today I wanted to share my weight loss story with you, and tell you about my incredible journey.

This is me when I started.

Yes I do change my hair color a lot. My hair is now a different color lol.

Now the reason I started this journey was not only because of my family history with diabetes, but because two years ago the doctors told me I was going blind. I went in for a regular routine check up for my eyes, and came out after signing a waiver stating I understood the doctor thought I had a brain tumor, and my eye sight would not last much longer. I prayed to God every night for the answer I needed, how could I be loosing my sight, how could this happen to me, Dear God I asked, please show me the path needed to correct this problem. HE DID, I started dieting this January, and went in one month ago for my eye check up, before taking the trip to Enid. I was told I was fine, everything looked good, and there was no reason for concern. I thank God every day for showing me the path necessary to correct a problem I created for myself. If you ask God will answer.

Outdoor Wednesday Carnival Night Of Fun

Friday Night we took the girls to the Carnival that our Church had, they have one every year. We rode many rides, and got extremely dizzy. As you know when you get on one ride, you want more.

This is Destiny(my little girl),and My sweet husband right before they got on the ride.

This is the ride while they were on it. It's hard to see them because it was moved so fast. It went in circles and up and down really fast. They looked like they were having the time of their life. Me and Isabel just watched.

Isabel decided she would try the high slide.

Isabel won the cake walk, she was excited, she chose a pink cake of course, she loves strawberry. And when she saw the confetti, she was sold.

We had a wonderful family night out.

Tonight Magical Disney Sunday is: Lilo & Stitch

When my kids were little this movie came out around Christmas time. They loved it. The Disney store made little dresses just like Lilo's in their Disney store. My mom searched every Disney store to find a red little dress for the girls, so that they could match Lilo.
I chose this song because this song is in the movie and the kids loved to sing along to it.
It's a great movie for children, and adults.

Oh what a week. It's Wednesday guys and man this week is moving fast. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far.
Life throws us on many curves and sometimes we just have one of those days were we feel like we are hanging by a thread, and we are on the edge of life. Hang on and look to god for comfort.

Have you ever wanted those words of encouragement but you can't find them inside yourself to give? Have you ever had a moment were you felt the edge coming close and need someone to pull you back? This week I felt that I needed to write to help give hope to anyone out there that is looking for those words. Remember we all have bad days whether we want to admit it our not. Just take a moment to breathe in and out and remind yourself that even though you don't feel like you have anyone out there to listen I am here. We just have to believe and pray and just have the faith that we will get through the day.

My weekend Miracle

My week started off so great last week. I had two miracles from the Lord that I just have to blog about. My youngest daughter Isabel is in cross country with her school. On Wednesday morning they meet at our local park for practice. I drop her off because the school has adults/teachers that are there to watch and protect the children, and then they walk to the school which is right next to the park in our neighborhood. I picked my daughter up from school that same day to only find out that a man in his 60's tried to get 3 children into his car from the cross country team. My daughter was not one of them, however the other children did tell and they are fine. The man was caught by the police but only told to never return to the park. My child's safety is extremely important and I did call the school and raise a fuss and they have moved practice to the school from now on. I thank God no one was hurt and neither was my daughter.

The next miracle was yesterday evening I received a call from my ex husband who was driving my daughter in his car to his home, he picks them up ever other weekend for the day. They were in a car accident, and no one was hurt, but little Isabel suffered minor seat belt burns on her neck. I thank the Lord she is alright and safe at home with me this evening. I do not take my children for granted ever, but after this weekend I know that God had his loving arms around my Isabel this past week.

We can not travel our journey of life alone, we must travel with God. God protects us and does what is right in our lives, and shows us the path we need to take to succeed in our journey of life. I pray everyone has a safe and happy week ahead.

The movie is about a little kitten who no one wanted to buy, and was left to survive on it's own in the big city. He meets many friends along the way, and finally finds an owner. Halloween Costume Contest

Hello everyone, I know I know I am suppose to be doing an essay, but I promised someone that I would help spread the word about their costume party blog.
Well I know I do not talk much about my own personal life on this blog, but many of you do not know that I am actually a sophomore in college getting two degrees. One degree is for nursing, and the other degree is for Child Family Studies. Whats that? I get that a lot. I am studying to be able to help Behavior health adolescents. Many children in today's times, find it hard trying to get through school and being able to talk to their parents and seek counseling or maybe have a behavior health problem. I am working towards a degree in the Child Family Studies to help adolescents. Why the heck two degrees? I know it's crazy, but the nursing program here in Arizona has a two year waiting list after you finish your pre-requisites, so while waiting two years to finish a degree I will already have one. I have to take double the classes though so that I can get this diploma by the end of next year. WOOOHOO. I am close.

I am 31 years old, I am a wife, and a mother of two girls, and in late 2006 decided to go to school and get a degree, yes I had a job working as a secretary for the United States Air Force, I worked for a base out here called the Military Papago Park Reservation at Joint Force Headquarters. It was fun, but they helped me too see that is not what I wanted to do I wanted to help save people. After I get my nursing degree the Child Family Studies degree will come in handy if I pursue a degree further as a Psychiatric Nurse. I hope to one day make my children proud.

Sorry okay okay enough about me. On to the new blog I found, she needs help guys try to go visit and sign your little pet up. She is a wonderful woman named Doris. Doris has a great contest going on. The contest is dress your little critter up and submit a picture to her. They are adorable little one's head over there and enter your little one today.

Update On Amy

These are my two beautiful daughters, and my beautiful cousin. This picture was taken two years ago before the cancer struck Amy.

I wanted to update you on Amy. God has answered the prayers we have asked him to do. Amy's trachea is no longer bleeding at the moment. We still ask for continued prayers for Amy and her pain. Amy is still throwing up, and extremely weak. I do not want to go into to many details other than she really needs a miracle. Amy needs God's loving hands to heal her of her pain. Amy rests at the moment. Debbie is resting at the moment. Richard is watching over them while they sleep.

When my mom and dad left for Enid a little over a week ago, I wasn't able to go back to see Amy. Many of you know I already drove back to Enid to visit in late August. I did write Amy a letter as I know she is not able to speak over the phone. I would like to share with ya'll a poem. This is not a poem of sadness, but a poem of strength and courage. This is the poem I shared with Amy, because of her strength and her courage to live and to fight.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright

She has faught God, she has done all you have asked. She has been a true servant unto you oh Lord. I ask you to spare her, we need her, she is truly loved and needed here with us. We ask that you take her pain away and comfort her. We know this is not the work of you oh Lord but the work of Evil of Cancer. We know you have the power to heal the sick and we ask that you do this now Lord. Amen.

We need prayers for Amy

My fellow friends. I have been told to update you on my cousin Amy's condition.

This morning at 5 am. I received a call from my mother. Amy is bleeding out her trachea. We are not sure what might happen other than we need your prayers for God to perform a miracle. We need your prayers to ease Amy's pain. The family also asks that you pray for Debbie(Amys mom) and Richard (Amys Dad), and Richie's(Amys Brother) strength to hold strong through-out this painful ordeal.

Stay strong, keep praying.

This weeks movie is The Nightmare before Christmas in honor of Halloween. It's hard to believe that this was a Disney movie, but it was.
Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town, is bored with doing the same thing every year for Halloween. For today's pink Saturday we have the latest fashion line for our little furry friends, who are just like our children. With the fall season blowing in, we need to remember to keep them warm.

We have little fee-fee wearing a lovely hat, and scarf.

Little Biscuit is wearing a wonderful warm jogging suit for nice morning walks.

Little buttercup is wearing little slippers for those cold evenings when walking on cold tile, or wood floors.

Princess is ready for bedie by with her cute little jammie's.

Bell is ready for her walk on a cold rainy day.

Fluffy is good to go during winter with her heavy over coat.

And for our final model, Tinkerbell is sporting a warm cozy jacket, and running for president.

They arrived at home..

Mom called a few minutes ago, they are at my Aunt Debbie's visiting with Amy now; they made it to Enid. I will update about Amy as soon as I hear something.

While mom was busy driving, I thought I would keep busy, since I finished my studies for the evening, I decided to sketch a picture and show you a Country Church. I think instead of painting I will just stick to sketching, the paints take away from the art. This is my finished Country Church sketch it's suppose to look wintry. This was done with a #2 pencil, since I don't have the charcoal pencils needed to sketch, let me know what ya think, maybe this could be the next giveaway if ya'll like it.

Mom called Update on the Road Trip

Hello everyone, mom and dad, left early this morning around 4 a:m. Mom gave me specific orders to let all of her blogger sister's, know what is going on with Amy, (my cousin) and my mom and dads road trip. I will update again soon.

For those of you who are knew to my blog, I will fill you in on why they are traveling to Enid, Oklahoma to be with family at this time.
My cousin Amy has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She has fought the last several years with cancer. The doctors sent Amy home around a month ago and have decided there is nothing further they can do for her. Amy had a surgery about a month ago; to have a trachea put in to allow her to breathe. Amy's cancer has progressed severely over the last month. The doctors say she is not doing well. I still have faith the Lord will touch and heal her of her pain, and of her cancer. We are only asking at this time, that every just pray for Amy's pain to go away. Amy is only 33 years old. The picture above is of her and her mom (my aunt) which was taken several years ago before she was diagnosed with cancer. Amy also had cancer as a child; she was diagnosed with rabdomiocarcinoma at the age of 10. This is her second battle with cancer in her short life. I have her link on the side of my blog, which has their address, if you would like to send a card with just a smiley face, Amy would love that. My mom promised to update me on Amy's situation, so that I can keep all the Prayer Warriors updated as well.

I stand strong in the faith of the Lord. I do not talk about my personal life to often, but yesterday was a terrible day.
I have been awaiting my loan money for school for over two months now, yesterday I was told there was a problem with my loan application, which the error was made by the school, so now I will have to wait another two to three weeks for the loan money.
I have been struggling with out having a job and being a full time mom, and a full time student at the age of 31. Yes this was my choice, but I asked for guidance by the Lord, and this is the direction he has guided me in. I will not let evil get me down, I will not let this situation get me down. Yesterday was rough yes, but no matter how long I have to wait for help, finances, health, or my degree, I will stand strong with you Lord. I will not fall, I will keep climbing.
And it will be worth it in the end.

For all of you who are just having one of those days, ask for guidance he will answer.

But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear ; do not be frightened."Take Courage

Into the Garden
It was the sweetest, most mysterious-looking place anyone could imagine. The high walls which shut it in were so thick they were matted together.... All the ground was covered with grass of wintry brown, and out of it grew clumps of bushes which were surely rose-bushes that they were like little trees.

There were other trees in the garden, and one of the things which made the place look strangest and loveliest was that climbing roses had run all over them and swung down long tendrils which made light swaying curtains, and here and there they had caught at each other or at a far-reaching branch had crept from one tree to another and made lovely bridges of themselves. There were neither leaves nor roses on them now, and Mary did not know whether they were dead or alive, but their thin grey or brown branches and sprays looked like a sort of hazy mantle spreading over everything, walls, and tress and even brown grass where they and fallen from their fastenings and run along the ground.

It was this hazy tangle from tree to tree which made it all look so mysterious. Mary had thought it must be different from other gardens which had not been left all by themselves so long; and indeed it was different from and other place she had ever seen in her life.

There are so many people I have met over the last few days in need of prayer, for health. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Lord for my health and my children's health, as I am reminded even though life is genuinely short; we should all live it to the fullest, praise God, and praise our family and truly live like tomorrow was our last day. Life is extremely short, just yesterday I was in High School, and today a mother of two beautiful girls. Days are truly numbered here on earth. TREASURE THEM! Stop and look around, stop and have fun! Pray for those who need our help.

Yeah we are half way through the week. I hope you are all having a blessed week, and finding comfort with your loved ones.

I have been busy this week with school, and had to write three essays just this week. I am sorry if I have not responded to you more efficiently. Please go easy on me. Destiny is sick with a respiratory infection (shes my 12 year old), so I have been nursing her back to health. She should be able to return to school herself tomorrow.

I hope that one day there will be a cure for cancer, and help save thousands of people. What happens to all the other people before this happens? The Fallen

I will Never forget 9/11. My husband was one of the first soldiers sent to Iraq after 9/11. He fought for his country, and he fought for all those who lost their lives during the attack.

I would like to take a moment in prayer for the fallen, and remember them, but also for Amy. This is a picture of Amy and my daughter Destiny taken a couple of years ago.

Coraline Is Finished

Well I have finished the Coraline dolls. Keep in mind that the girls wanted two different styles, one to have a face similar to the doll in the movie; with no mouth, and the other to have little pink lips. One Coraline was to have the slicker and boots similar to the movie, and the other Coraline doll was to have pajamas with slippers. I had no pattern for this creation.
